50 Cent is canceled… again
An entire culture is devastated, by the loss of Hip-hop icon Nipsey Hussle. While many celebrities sent their condolences and publicly mourned the rapper, 50 Cent managed to put himself in the spotlight.
When Nipsey was pronounced dead last week, 50 Cent posted a video of a car on Instagram. When a fan of the rapper commented on his insensitivity towards the deceased, 50 replied “yeah I know Nipsey B****, I’ll say something when I’m ready. Get the f*** outta here.” A day after his clash with a fan on Instagram, He posted a picture of himself in a suit with the caption “To: Nipsey’s Real friends and family I send my sincere condolences. I’m sorry for your loss God bless. #lecheminduroi.”
Though the rappers did a song in 2015 together titled “I Wanna Benz,” 50 Cents’ condolence seemed insincere and disrespectful among many. If the picture of himself modeling in a suit wasn’t deemed insincere enough, the hashtag of his alcohol brand displayed alternative motives to his public mourning. With 50 Cents' history of insensitivity towards other entertainers, one must ask if he is capable of maturing? If not, does this mean it is officially time to cancel the hip-hop legend?
