Vanessa Williams Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
‘Oh How The Years Go By,’ after making her first appearance in the spotlight nearly 35 years ago, Vanessa Williams can most definitely say that she’s left her mark.
On Thursday, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored the former Miss America with a Lifetime Achievement Award. A portrait of the Soul Food star was unveiled at the Variety and the Hollywood Museum co-sponsored event which was held at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, California.
Vice-president and executive editor of Variety, Steven Gaydos presented a video that featured William’s accomplishments. The former Miss America was recognized for her many achievements in film, music, television and theater. In 1996 she sang at the Oscars, and in 2010 she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
One thing we know for sure, is that this major achievement is bringing a lot of joy and ‘Happiness’ to Williams. After this special occasion, Williams can stop questioning whether or not she’s been ‘Dreamin’ all these years.
