The nominations for the 90th Oscar Awards were released Tuesday morning with The Shape of Water leading the pack with 13 noms.
Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis made the announcemen at 8:22 a.m. ET, live from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater In LA.
Haddish brought her comedic chops to the sometimes mundane show, struggling with the names of the nominees and fun batter about the movie names can be scary for a girl from an urban area like her.
Some chat became fact as Get Out, the horror/comedy was elevated to the most coveted list for best picture.. The last time a horror film got this type of recognition was in 1992 when Silence of the Lambs took home two Oscars.
Hip hop legend, Mary J Blidge received some real love from The Academy in the supporting actress role in Mudbound. The film by Dee Rees is the story of two Mississippi families, one white the other black that face racial realities, farming and friendship after two men from each family return home from fighting in World War II.
