raunchy R-rated comedy raked in a reported $30.4 million dollars over the
weekend, surpassing their $19 million budget. It was even named the highest
performing live-action comedy of 2017. But, the accolades come as no surprise.
A movie revolved around unwavering sisterhood and action-packed adventure was
sure to get women to flock to the box office.
Girls
Trip takes viewers on a journey with four BFF’s Regina
Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Tiffany Haddish, who head to New
Orleans during the Essence Festival for a much-needed girls’ getaway. Throughout
the trip, relationships are re-kindled, love is found, and the town gets turned
upside down by the “Flossy Posse.”
Rotten Tomatoes gave Girls Trip a rare 89% rating and Cinemascore
graded the film an A+. The most important critic however, the fans, are raving
about the movie’s fearless portrayal of friendship. Further, fans are pleased
to see diversity in the flick, as four powerful black women are dominating the
screen. Grab your girls and see this must-see!
