TMB’s Top 5 Oscar Showstoppers
Embellishments, lace and class took over the red carpet for the Oscar’s this year. Metallic colors were definitely the trend of the season. Form fitting silhouettes and fit ‘n flare made some of our top picks the stars of the night. The top 5 looks brought the much needed wow factor for a night of typical black tie ensembles.
TMB’s first pic is Ava Duvernay in an Ashi Studio lace ball gown. The light gray shade and detailed embroidery added classy elements to her elegant look accompanied by subtle accessories. The “Selma” and “13th” director has had a great year with these popular flicks and an even greater fashion sense.
The next best look goes to the gorg Priyanka Chopra in an edgy Ralph & Russo geometric gown. The Indian actress looks stunning in basically anything but this look takes the cake. The Quantico star opted for a white metallic showstopper that fit in all the right places.
We can’t have a best dressed without mentioning red carpet fave Taraji P. Henson. Taraji always shows up and shows out for any photo op and this time it’s no different! She had zero trouble hiding figures in this purple velvet Alberta Ferreti gown that brought major sex appeal with a high slit and off the shoulder neckline. Her diamond necklace and fierce short do top it off.
Simple and stunning are the only words to describe bombshell Karlie Kloss. Her white cape dress from Stella McCartney was simple and flattering. Not to mention her blue ribbon for a political statement was a great addition.
The best dressed of the night award goes to (drumroll please!) Janelle Monae. The “Hidden Figures” star wore a black and metallic stunner from Elie Saab. Janelle is known for her black and white style and she has taken it to a whole nother level honey. She is serving drama and elegance with the metallic gold flake details and heavy embroidery. We are also digging this new pixie cut.
