That's a Rap #Grammys
It’s a wrap! The 2016 Grammy’s are in the books.
And the performances from Monday night will never be
forgotten. From beginning to end, you couldn’t help but to keep your eyes glued
to the TV! Performances from Taylor
Swift, The Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Pitbull, and more.
Each and every artist showed off and did their thing last
night. But there were also some issues, mainly RiRi canceled
her performance at the last minute and Adele struggled with technical difficulties while she
performed “All I Ask.”
Many people were not pleased with that and started to rant
about it all over social media
There’s always next year, ladies!
The
performance that everyone went wild over was Kendrick Lamar’s. He delivered
the performance of the night without a doubt. The artist started off by walking out as
part of a chain gang to perform “The Blacker The Berry” with his ‘prisoners’
locked inside jail cells. The he transitioned to "Alright" in front of a huge bonfire with numerous Africanesque dancers in the
background. He then ended his performance with the word Compton over an image
of Africa.
Kendrick has definitely made Grammy history with this
performance. Both of his songs
come from his sophomore album To
Pimp A Butterfly and they speak directly to
African-Americans and the modern day issues they face in America.
To
Pimp A Butterfly received seven Grammy
nominations this year and Lamar took home four awards before the show even began.
Later, he picked up another award for Best Rap Album.
Congrats
to you, Kendrick!
