And The BETWinner Is....
Fasten your seatbelts! The Media Brew is gearing up for the 2015 BET Awards. In honor of the big event tomorrow night, we created a list of Top 10 most memorable BET Awards moments from last year’s show:
1. Chris Rock hosted the 2014 Awards show, and he was hilarious! He started the night by calling the event the “Black World Cup,” and served chicken and waffles to his audience. Classic!
2. Usher proved to us why he’s still the Prince of R&B. He took us back by performing a greatest hits medley: Confessions, Caught Up, and U Remind Me.... And he’s still got it!
3. Jennifer Hudson wowed us on the BET stage, and we’re not just talking about her voice...Her figure in that black dress says it all!
4. Nicki Minaj was crowned the Queen of Shade. During her acceptance speech for Best Female Rap Artist, she made a comment directed towards her rivals who don’t write their own lyrics, “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.” Sips Tea.
5. August Alsina gets emotional after winning the award for Best New Artist. Well deserved.
6. Chris Brown performed on stage for the first time after being released from jail. The singer danced his heart out to hit single, Loyal... According to Chris rock, he danced like he was free!
7. And the Award for Trying to Win Your Ex Back goes to.....Robin Thicke. He dedicated his performance to his ex, Paula Patton, who he allegedly cheated on. Thicke ended the song by confessing his love for Paula.
8. Keke Palmer did a great job holding this down backstage, but this didn’t save her from what The Twitterverse had to say about her outfit choices.
9. Lionel Richie won the Lifetime Achievement Award, and his name couldn’t even be spelled correctly. On top of that, his tribute seemed a little bit lengthy. Gregory E. Miller tweeted what everyone was thinking: The Lionel Richie Concert featuring The #BetAwards.
10.Beyonce and Jay-Z closed the night by streaming live from their On The Run Tour. The Queen performed “Partition” and slayed our lives once again.
There you have it! Don’t forget to tune in to the 2015 Bet Awards on Sunday, June 28th.
